Radon Information

  • Radon, a naturally occurring gas from uranium breakdown, is prevalent in northern Georgia’s granite-rich soils.
  • It can infiltrate buildings through foundations and well water.
  • Radon causes 21,000 deaths annually, including over 800 in Georgia, making it the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking.
  • Smokers have an even higher risk of radon-induced lung cancer.

Test For Radon In Your Home

Testing and Mitigation

To protect your home and health, testing for radon is the first step. Radon is an invisible, odorless gas, so the only way to know if it’s present at dangerous levels is through testing. If high levels are detected, taking action to reduce radon in your home is crucial.
